What can go wrong during a student visa interview?

What does the consul want from you? He wants to know:

- why do you need English?

- How much money are you going to live on in the USA?

- and are you going to return to your homeland?

Your task is to avoid causing any doubt in your words to the consul. They will ask about the duration of training. The application will say 1 year, but if you say “one and a half or a year,” it will be a refusal.

Why do you need English? You must correctly explain how exactly you are going to use the acquired knowledge. The best explanation would be future career growth, something like you want to work in an American company or you need English to be promoted to a new position. For young people, the answer is that you want to study at an American college. This is a good reason to learn the language and will show that you need American English rather than British. Because they may also ask about this. It will also show that you are a wealthy person who will also study at college in the future, and not one of those who is going to work illegally.

Where does the money come from? There are three options. You earn everything yourself, your parents sponsor (for young people) or your sponsor is your company. Each case is individual, and perhaps I will write a separate post about this. In any case, your task is to show that you will not need money, and you have no intention of working illegally.

Homecoming. Everyone talks about showing that you have something in your homeland, such as family, real estate, business, etc. But you and I understand that if you are 20 years old or so, then no one will demand this from you; the most that can keep you going is your studies. For older people, reasons to return to their homeland include family, work, business, and real estate. All this will play in your favor a little if the consul asks you if you have it. In any case, your main task is to show that you will return to your homeland after learning English.
