US cities popular with immigrants

Immigrants to the United States have increasingly chosen to live in smaller cities and suburbs in recent decades, according to a new study from the Bush Institute. Expats who decide to move to America gravitate to fast-growing suburban counties in areas with relatively affordable housing and government policies that help businesses grow. Of the 100 largest metropolitan areas, tech hubs such as San Jose, San Francisco and Seattle have the highest rates of immigrant well-being, according to the report. But the metropolitan areas of Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Detroit also remain excellent destinations for expats moving to America. However, 7 of America's 10 largest metropolitan areas - New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Miami and Phoenix - rank in the middle or bottom of the ranking of cities for immigrants in the United States.
