Woman thought dead 'resurrected' at funeral home
A woman suffering from Alzheimer's disease lived at the Iowa Special Care Center. On January 3, 2023, staff discovered that the woman was not breathing or showing signs of life, so they called the funeral home. 2 hours after the crematorium staff unzipped the body bag, it turned out that the woman was alive. The woman was immediately returned to the care facility, which now faces a $10 fine. On January 5, the woman nevertheless died surrounded by her family.
