I want to tell you a little about the event. This was our first time at such an event, where top businessmen gathered and shared their life experiences. What can I say, basically we were surrounded by businessmen. Such parties were created with the initial goal of making new acquaintances, and gaining new knowledge from knowledgeable people is a secondary bonus. But, to be honest, it was not possible to acquire many useful contacts. You know that feeling when you are completely out of your element? Where to start getting acquainted if you know about 0.0% about the business? Everyone is still so smart, in expensive clothes, and you, in principle, only recently bought yourself at least something after moving. In short, it was as awkward as possible, even though this is a native CIS community, but it was quite useful for the purpose of broadening one’s horizons. After all, I spent my whole life in a hospital, my circle of contacts is limited to doctors of my specialization, and a few close people. When else would I find myself in a completely opposite society?
For myself, I didn’t learn anything useful in terms of finances. I still don’t understand what margin is, how to get credit to open my own pizzeria or buy 20 trucks. But I was very touched by personal stories of formation and development. All the speakers did not hesitate to say that when moving to the states, some turned the wheel, some lived in the basement, and some lost everything they had been building for a long time. These people have a very strong inner core, because they do not break down under the weight of serious life problems, but move on despite the collapse of everything they have created - these are very inspiring examples. Especially now.
Many more noted the value of their family as their only and stable support throughout all the good and bad times. After all, partners can cheat when you don’t expect it at all. There was an example where the connection was broken because someone didn’t like someone’s photo or didn’t answer a call; to be honest, it’s kind of a mess. Businessmen from the stage thanked their wives sitting in the audience, it was very nice. And they talked about the fact that they did not see how their children grew up, very much regretting it. Therefore, behind the cover of success, wealth and confidence, there is eternal stress, the unpredictability of your future and the need for safety, support and love to be waiting for you at home. And they usually don’t talk about this, hiding their feelings behind an impeccable white-toothed smile. Because no one wants to appear weak.
