Rules for the import of various goods and money
Foreigners must comply with the following regulations when importing food, goods, and currency into the United States:

Cultural items
Items of cultural value are allowed only with export permits and receipts.

Firearms
Its importation is permitted only through an authorized importer, distributor or manufacturer with the approval of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Food
Only products in unopened packaging are allowed. For example, chocolate, flour, pasta and so on. Products such as meat or dairy products are prohibited.

Alcoholic drinks
The maximum amount of alcohol allowed to be imported varies by state. To do this, you should consult with the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) for more information.

Only with permission from the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS).

Pets
It all depends on the type of pet and the state.

Medications
Only medications approved in the United States may be imported for personal use. Be sure to have your prescription with you and contact the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in advance for more information.

Payment means
Cash or cash equivalent is only allowed up to $10.

Gifts
Donated items are allowed up to a value of $100.
If an alien immigrates to the United States and brings with him dogs, cats or any other pets, he must provide detailed documentation for each animal brought into the country:
- valid medical certificates;
- vaccination record;
-blood analysis;
-microchip;
-special permissions.
