A couple bought an abandoned hotel in the Arizona desert and turned it into an interesting vacation spot.
Sarah and Rich Combs, already having a hotel business in California, decided to expand into Arizona. The couple began looking for an empty canyon to create a place for people to relax. They found a 7500-square-foot property near Saguaro National Park and bought it for $615, but had not visited the site themselves. When they arrived there as owners, they saw the hotel abandoned 10 years ago. They spent $500 thousand on renovations. The hotel now features a kitchen, rock canyon pool, hot spring style hot tub, rooftop lounge, yoga room, dining patio, fireplace lounge, BYOB bar.
Hotel room rates range from $210 to $427 per night.
