Best US Schools - Best States to Live in
Where to look for housing? This is the question most new immigrants to the United States ask. We, immigrants from the countries of the former USSR, are familiar with the scheme according to which the closer to the center of a settlement/city/capital, the better. But more experienced immigrants and locals know the secret - the best states and areas are those with the best schools, since an American school is not just a school. The higher the school's average (more on that below), the better the chances of going to college, the better the area.
The top five have not changed for years. The best US schools are located in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland. New York is in 17th place, and California is in 40th.
The worst schools and the least chances of getting an education at the best universities in the world are located in West Virginia, Arizona, Louisiana, Alaska and New Mexico.
