In northwestern New York state, wind speeds reached 130 km/h

A "bomb cyclone" hit the northwest areas of Buffalo, New York. Wind speed reaches 125-130 km/h. In Buffalo there is zero visibility, the snowstorm has not stopped for several hours. It's -15 degrees Celsius outside now. The local Buffalo Airport is closed due to a snowstorm.

It's getting very cold in Manhattan. Currently the air temperature is -18 degrees Celsius and the roads are icy. The Bomb Cyclone caused the cancellation of 5 flights across the country. The largest numbers of passengers were stranded at Seattle/Tacoma International Airport in Washington, LaGuardia International Airport in New York, and O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. Almost 8 thousand flights were delayed due to terrible weather conditions.

More than 680 thousand residents from Texas to Maine were left without electricity. The hardest hit state is Georgia, where 100 thousand people lost power.

About 5 thousand trains were stopped due to bad weather. Many railway lines are currently out of service.
