How long will winter last in the USA: groundhogs Phil and Chuck gave different forecasts
The most famous American groundhog, Phil from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, woke up at dawn today and made his weather forecast for the next six weeks. February 2 is Groundhog Day in the USA and Canada. And today, according to tradition, the groundhog had to determine: will the winter be long this year? As a result, Phil saw his shadow, which means that winter weather will last in the United States until at least mid-March. By the way, on February 3 in New York, weather forecasters promise strong winds and -15 degrees Celsius. The same temperature is expected on February 4.
But the groundhog Chuck from New York, on the contrary, predicted an early spring. However, it is still believed that Phil from Pennsylvania is the most popular of the rodent weather forecasters.
