On the brink of nuclear war: official map with thousands of locations in the United States that could become targets of enemy missiles
The map was introduced by the Federal Emergency Management Agency back in 2015, when US relations with nuclear-weapon states were undermined. Now the map is being actively shared online due to the new threat from Russia.
Nuclear facilities are indicated in black, and nuclear warhead storage facilities are indicated in purple triangles. Residents of large cities where government buildings and large financial centers are located are also in serious danger. Experts name the six most vulnerable cities: New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington (DC).
Relatively safe places in the event of a nuclear war are the states of Idaho, Maine, Oregon, and Northern California.
