New York drivers face hefty fines for idling

In New York, you can face a fine of up to $2000 for violating a simple rule - idling, that is, warming up the car while idling. You can leave your car running without moving for longer than 3 minutes, and near schools - only 1 minute. Only special vehicles, vehicles with a large number of passengers in severe frost, as well as vehicles involved in loading and unloading operations are not subject to a fine.
