Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Alexei Navalny, has made a surprising announcement about her intention to run for the presidency of the Russian Federation. In an interview coinciding with the release of her book Patriot, she stated that she is ready to return to Russia and participate in the presidential elections to continue the work her late husband began.

Navalnaya emphasized that her main goal is to bring about change in the country and inspire Russians to fight for freedom and justice. She noted that the memory of her husband remains a constant source of strength and determination. According to her, many of the ideas and principles that Alexei stood for continue to live on and unite people who are ready for change.

Yulia also revealed that she was the target of a poisoning attempt just weeks before the well-known incident involving Alexei Navalny. She only learned of this months later, which made her realize the high stakes of her struggle. Despite all the challenges, she expressed gratitude to those who continue to support her and visit Alexei’s grave.

Navalnaya highlighted the importance of maintaining a connection with Russians who live under pressure and repression. In her address, she thanked everyone who had the courage to attend her husband's funeral and continues to fight for freedom and justice, despite threats and dangers.

In an interview with the BBC, Navalnaya discussed the political opposition in Russia, noting that disagreements among its representatives are natural for democratic processes. She remains confident that, even under such conditions, common ground can be found, and work can be done towards shared goals.

Despite the difficult times and repression, Yulia Navalnaya believes that change in the country is inevitable. She called on all who care to unite and believe in a better future, stressing that her main goal is to reform the system and create a Russia where everyone can feel free and protected.
