Californian man sells unique license plate for $2 million
Claude Arthur Stewart Hamrick, 83, of San Jose, California, registered a license plate with his initials in 1970, which he has now decided to sell. Hamrick said he was repeatedly asked to sell the sign, to which he replied that he would not sell it even for a million dollars. The man kept his word and is now asking $2 million for the license plates. The license plate was originally installed on the new Buick Riviera, and after that it was always on the Cadillac.
Prior to this, the most expensive license plate in the United States with one digit “6” was sold in Delaware for $625 thousand.
