When can we expect a minimum wage increase in New York?
In the metropolis today, the minimum wage is $15 per hour. However, outside the city limits, different rates apply.
Starting in 2023, the statewide minimum wage (except New York City, Long Island, and Westchester) will increase from $13,20 to $14,20.
There is some good news. But you will have to wait at least 4 years for a salary increase in the metropolis. But, if the new bill is approved, then from 2027 city residents will receive a minimum of $21,25 per hour.
As Michael Kink, leader of the Strong Economy for All organization, said today, more than 15 million people in New York receive a minimum wage of $2.
