10 new centers for immigrants and refugees open in New York

The mayor's office of New York announced the opening of additional centers to receive refugees who crossed the border with Mexico. 

Here are the criteria that must be met: 

  • enter the country after January 1, 2022

  • have documents in hand indicating that you have asked for asylum at the border

  • have proof of residence in New York

 

The new centers offer the following assistance: 

-Legal consultations

-Resolving issues related to children's education

-Registration of MetroCard and city ID 

-Consultations on health insurance
