New York City sees record number of homeless people

According to the Coalition for the Homeless, there were 65,5 homeless people in New York City in October. That is, we can assume that now there are even more tramps.

Human rights activists say New York Mayor Eric Adams has failed to implement his program to provide affordable housing to the homeless. Journalists from the New York Daily News said that more than 70% of the homeless, whom the mayor's office moved from the streets and subways to shelters, left the centers within a week.

The mayor's End of the Line plan ultimately failed. For example, from February to March, health officials placed 2300 people in shelters. But only 30% of them remained to live there.

It is also unclear whether another mayor’s program will help solve the homeless problem. Let me remind you that according to Eric Adams’ project, if a homeless person refuses to leave the subway or other public place, then the policeman, even against his will, can send the offender for examination to a mental hospital.
