US snowstorm death toll rises to 57
The storm killed at least 57 people, stretching from the Great Lakes near Canada to the Rio Grande along the Mexican border, the channel said. Deaths were recorded in 12 states:

27 people died in Erie County in western New York, where more than a meter of snow fell. Of these, 18 are in its capital, Buffalo.
