White House statements on the sanctions package against Russia in honor of the anniversary of the start of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
-The United States will increase duties on more than 100 types of Russian metals, minerals and chemical products amounting to about $2,8 billion;
-The United States will impose sanctions against more than 200 individuals and legal entities from the Russian Federation and third countries, including China and Europe;
-The Ministry of Commerce will take several export control actions, listing nearly 90 Russian and third-party companies, including in China, for participating in sanctions evasion in support of Russia's defense sector;
-Dozens of Russian financial institutions will also be subject to new sanctions.
Washington also said it would provide Kyiv with another $2 billion in weapons in preparation for a spring offensive. It will include:
▪️Rockets for HIMARS;
▪️155 mm shells;
▪️Several types of drones, in particular CyberLux K8, Switchblade 600, Altius-600 and Jump 20 UAS;
▪️Anti-drone equipment and electronic warfare equipment;
▪️Ammunition for laser-guided missile systems;
▪️Equipment for mine clearance;
▪️Financing of training and services.
The Pentagon emphasized that all equipment will not be transferred from warehouses, but will be ordered from manufacturers. It is separately noted that the assistance did not include F-16 fighters, which were requested by Ukraine.
