Accused of participating in the storming of the Capitol, planned to kill FBI officers

A fundamentally new type of accusations has emerged in the development of the cases of the storming of the Capitol (as, in fact, the actions of the accused themselves are also new: no one has done this before).

Edward Kelley from Tennessee was accused back in May 2022 of participating in the storming of the Capitol. Mr. Kelly actively participated in the attack on the police, breaking a window and knocking down the door leading into the building (photo from the complaint against Mr. Kelly regarding the assault).

Despite his actions, Mr. Kelly remained free and wasted no time: he obtained a list of 37 employees of the local FBI office who took part in the investigation against him, and, together with his accomplices, planned to storm the local FBI office and kill the officers. Since one of the accomplices decided to tell everything to law enforcement officers, the latter recorded the plans of Mr. Kelly and the second defendant Austin Carter. Now both have been detained and the issue of arrest is being decided.

Both men are charged with conspiracy, retaliation against federal officials, threatening communications, incitement to commit a crime and cruelty.
