San Francisco proposes legalizing prostitution
District Leader Hillary Ronen is outraged that prostitution has now "become brazen and large-scale." She believes that the situation is already getting out of control of the authorities.
Capp Street in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District is filled with prostitutes and pimps. Prostitution rates are particularly high in certain areas of the state, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco and Oakland. The surge comes as new reforms stipulate that police can only make arrests if the suspect admits to prostitution.
Ronen will announce a resolution this week calling on state lawmakers to legalize prostitution.
