$1,5 million for 23 years in prison: a man was found not guilty of raping his sons and will be paid compensation

In 1994, Michael Haas of West Virginia was convicted of sexually abusing his 11-year-old and 9-year-old sons. This was a period when a man was divorcing his wife, and a woman with children began to visit a family psychologist. It was counselor Susan Bowles who persuaded the boys to testify against their father. The adult boys told the court about this in 2017.

The man was released and, more than five years later, was awarded compensation in the amount of $1,5 million for the 23 lost years of life behind bars.
