Anti-rating of states with the most sick populations
Experts have compiled an anti-rating of the least healthy states: the list is topped by West Virginia, which, as the authors note, has the highest morbidity and mortality from chronic diseases.
The second sickest state is Mississippi. It is followed by Kentucky, Alabama and Arkansas. And the healthiest states were Hawaii, Utah, California, Colorado and Washington. The researchers also ranked the top states for substance abuse, led by Oregon, Alaska, Colorado, Nevada and Washington.
