A unique operation was performed in Texas - they successfully separated Siamese twins
Surgeons at a hospital in Fort Worth, near Dallas, performed a successful operation to separate conjoined twins who were born last October. The operation lasted 11 hours and involved 25 medical personnel - surgeons and nurses. Each doctor put on a cap to understand who was responsible for which child: a green cap for the girl Amy, a purple one for her sister Jamie.
Surgeons separated the twins' heart, lungs, liver and other organs. The girls had a common diaphragm, which had to be divided between them.
