Self-healing of limbs amputated or lost due to accidents may become a reality: German scientists conducted research on sea spiders. They cut off various limbs of animals, and after a while they grew back - without outside intervention. Moreover, removed organs, such as the intestines, were also restored in young individuals.
Professors believe that special stem cells may be involved in this mechanism. The researchers' experiments will help further understand the process of possible regeneration of human limbs.
