Newly arrived immigrants stretch last 100 bucks for a month

Very often I hear from some Russian-speaking immigrants who came here 20-30 years ago, the opinion that new arrivals go to America to “relax” and for free money. Old-timers have already forgotten or do not know at all about the problems of life in the countries of the former USSR, and how they harshly punish for political activity. They believe that people are fleeing here in order to get high on their taxes. I’m really wondering why this opinion was formed? I personally have not yet met a single person who would say: “It’s a thrill to live in a shelter, who needs to rent a house? Work to buy food? What the hell! I will eat at food banks all my life and live on other people’s taxes. Ahhh, that’s right, the insurance is free, I’ll go around all the existing doctors. And anyway, this is America, just relax on the sofa, pick your nose, the postman is delivering money here.” I’ll even say more: many new acquaintances do not use social assistance because they are afraid that they will be refused water. asylum as a consequence. They stretch out the last 100 bucks for a month for all family members, trying to grab any opportunity to work illegally. I will lift the veil of this mysterious emigration - people come here out of hopelessness and fear that haunts them in their native country. It’s not very likely that people would run abroad on vacation, abandoning their previously built life, tearing their children away from school and their friends, exposing all family members and themselves to the stress of emigration, which causes serious damage to their health. Children begin to get sick often; in adults, chronic gastritis and pancreatitis worsen. This is where insurance comes in, but not for the purpose of getting a full body MRI and whitening your teeth.

Personally, during our entire stay in the United States, we invested much more money into the economy than we received back. We spent all our savings here, paying taxes in stores and rent. Therefore, I believe that the dissatisfaction on the part of long-livers is unfounded. If you were lucky enough to come here in a “more legal way” at one time, this does not mean that you are better people and deserve a better life.

I wrote this post so that those who are doing well will think about helping those whose lives are “not so good” right now. Well, or at least they didn’t put a spoke in the wheels with their dismorality. After all, newly arrived immigrants simply want a good, safe life for themselves and their families. Everyone I know wants to work, benefit their loved ones, the state and build a new life in the USA, and not rest on their laurels.
