The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces received a huge inheritance from a relative from the United States - and donated it to the army
General Valery Zaluzhny received an inheritance of $1 million: his relative, Grigory Stepanets, an American of Ukrainian origin, died in the United States. Zaluzhny himself confirmed this information: “I gave my whole life to the Armed Forces. And I didn’t have the slightest doubt about what I should do with the inheritance.”
Grigory Stepanets worked in Moscow in the 1950s. Once he signed a letter in support of a dissident and lost his job. He was able to leave the USSR for the USA only in 1989 - during the presidency of Mikhail Gorbachev. Stepanets settled in Redmond (Washington) and got a job at Microsoft.
