Woman buried in M&M's coffin
The family of a woman named Mary Esther Stokes Martin Gailey buried her in an M&M's-shaped coffin. She asked her family about this during her lifetime. Moreover, Gailey designed and made the coffin herself, and then kept it at home for years. The names of 6 children and 57 grandchildren of the deceased are written on the coffin.
The woman worked as a teacher for 30 years, and the school shortened her name to Mary Martin. The initials coincided with the name of the famous jelly beans, and students often gave her M&M's or mascot toys.
