In the elections to the House of Representatives, Republicans received a majority of votes, 51% versus 48% for Democrats.

New York Times election analyst Nate Cohn discusses why the results for the Republican Party were rather modest:

1. Republicans in the elections to the House of Representatives received a majority of votes in 5 key states (Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania), which determined Biden’s victory in 2020. If this were a presidential election, the Republicans would win with 297 electoral votes (the 270 mark needed to win);

2. But besides New York and Florida, the biggest increase in Republican support was in the southern states, where they already dominate;

3. Well, the most dramatic was the discrepancy between voting in the elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate. In the same states, Republican candidates for the upper house of Congress performed noticeably worse than those for the lower house.
