House of Representatives recommends criminal prosecution against Trump

The House of Representatives charged Donald Trump with four federal felonies and recommended that the Justice Department begin criminal proceedings against him.

Following an investigation that lasted 1.5 years, the House of Representatives collected evidence that Trump was guilty of: incitement of insurrection, conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of the procedure of the US Congress, conspiracy to make false statements. Donald Trump "intentionally spread false claims of fraud" in the election to aid his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and successfully obtain approximately $250 million in political donations. “These false claims incited his supporters to commit violence on January 6.”
