Grand jury will issue a finding on Trump's call to Secretary of State

The day before yesterday, the Grand Jury convened in Fulton County, Georgia, by the county attorney regarding Trump's call to the Secretary of State, concluded its work. What's the result? Drum roll... The opinion of the Grand Jury is not yet public, and we do not know what the outcome was: whether they found signs of a crime in the actions of Trump and his associates. But let’s mark January 24 on our calendar: on this day the court has scheduled a meeting at which the issue of making the conclusion public will be decided.

The process took place in the state of Georgia, where the rules of the Grand Jury differ from the federal ones. Under federal rules, if the grand jury found no evidence of a crime, the prosecution lost without even starting a trial. But in Georgia, the prosecutor can initiate proceedings on the merits even if the Grand Jury has a negative opinion, since in this case the prosecutor uses a special procedure (formally, this is a Special Grand Jury). In any case, it will be interesting.
