Trump's CFO sentenced to prison today
Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weissenberg was sentenced today to five months in prison for committing a series of tax evasion crimes.
Let me remind you that after the court refused to dismiss the case at the defendant’s request, the latter decided to make a deal with the prosecution. In exchange for testimony about tax evasion and payment of taxes, the prosecution agreed to a short sentence. The court today agreed with this, although Judge Juan Merchan commented that if prosecutors had not promised a small sentence, the judge himself would have given a much longer sentence.
Weissenberg was sent to serve his sentence today, but everyone is wondering how the CFO's sentence will affect the Trump family.
