A man spent 28 years behind bars for a murder he didn't commit.

In 1995, Lamar Johnson was given a life sentence for the murder of Marcus Boyd: he allegedly killed the man along with a certain Phil Campbell. Then the court decided that the crime was committed because of a money dispute. The accused tried to prove his innocence: at the time of the murder he was several kilometers from the crime scene with his girlfriend. However, even her testimony did not influence the Themis’ decision.

28 years later, another prisoner, also serving a life sentence, helped the unjustly convicted man, James Horvad. He admitted that he and Campbell killed Boyd. A Missouri judge has declared Lamar Johnson innocent of a 28-year-old crime. As the decision was announced, the man just shook his head.
