US unemployment rate falls to 54-year-old record
In January of this year, only 3,4% of Americans were unemployed, the best figure for January since 1969. Also in the past months, the number of new workers increased by 517 thousand, with the exception of the agricultural sector. At the same time, Dow Jones gave an estimate of only 187 thousand.
In addition, the unemployment rate among black Americans decreased to 5,4%, but among the Hispanic population, on the contrary, it increased to 4,5%. Average hourly wages increased by 0,3% and by as much as 4,4% from last year.
