Lawyers in the United States are required by law to work several hours for free
Many immigration lawyers work with charities that provide them with clients. American lawyers are required by law to work a few hours for free, so they often handle asylum cases under the Pro Bono Services scheme.
However, the cases themselves must be strong. Experts say that if a lawyer is not confident in winning an interview with the immigration service, then he will not take such a case.

And, of course, with the huge influx of immigrants, you will have to wait in line for a free lawyer for a very long time.
