How can language school students earn extra money?

There are so many questions about unofficial work in the USA that I decided to share. First of all, you must understand that this is a violation of the law. Secondly, I must say that we always recommend that our students take the full amount of money for the stated period of study. For cultural and educational purposes, I’m telling you what my classmates worked for, receiving $3000 a month or more:

1. Food delivery

2. Moving (a job for stronger guys; girls, as far as I can remember, never got a job)

3. Busser in a restaurant (this is an assistant waiter who clears dishes from tables and receives a percentage of tips)

4. Photographer in a restaurant (the camera was given out on the spot, and the whole process was taught)

5. Nanny/caregiver

6. Dog walking

7. Master in the beauty field (here everything depended on skills: nails, eyelashes, hair, and so on)

9. Taxi driver

10. Cleaner/cleaning (this could be cleaning offices, shops, restaurants or private homes)

The list goes on, as everyone has individual skills, needs and capabilities. Someone could get a job as a waiter, barista, or even an assistant to an immigration lawyer, if their knowledge of English allowed. And someone repaired and resold cars because they simply knew how. Some managed to open a business, which is not prohibited as a student, while others managed to combine several jobs. Usually, all those who just came to America (either after winning a green card or on a visa) and are not confident in their English found such work in groups on Facebook, chats on Telegram or on the Craigslist website. Some could simply go to a store or cafe where there were “Now hiring” / “Help wanted” signs.
