Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter

Because of the war in Ukraine, many Russian-speaking Orthodox Christians in the United States do not go to church today. And this happens for obvious reasons. Since the beginning of the war, Russian Patriarch Kirill has made it clear that he supports Putin’s decision, which means he supports the war. And today the Patriarch said that “everything must be done to stop the conflict in Ukraine. So that fraternal and friendly relations will unite our peoples again,” he said.

Today, 130 Ukrainian soldiers returned from Russian captivity. According to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak, military personnel returned to Ukraine, including those taken prisoner in the Bakhmut, Soledar, Zaporozhye and Kherson directions. Of course, believers who do not agree with the official position of the church, including those abroad, still celebrate Easter. After all, you don’t have to go to church for this.
