Protests against Satanist convention take place in Boston
The Marriott Copley Place Hotel hosted the next SatanCon festival - a congress of representatives of the so-called Satanic Temple. The Christian public, in particular members of the Patriotic Front, came out to protest. Christians were especially angry at the actions of the leaders of the satanic movement: during the meeting, they began to tear out pages from the Bible. The Satanic Temple does not position itself as a devil-worshipping religion. They see Satan as a metaphor for violent power, which they fight against.
This year, SatanCon is dedicated to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, who “wants to remove the temple from public space through unconstitutional means.”
