Burger King will pay almost 8 million to a customer who fell in the establishment
A Florida court ordered Burger King to pay $7,68 million to a man who slipped and fell in the restaurant's restroom in 2019, injuring his back. Richard Tuleki, 48, suffered “serious injuries” that required surgery. As a result, Tuleka developed a postoperative perforation of the colon. Due to his injuries, the man was forced to quit his job, so he went to court.
The jury awarded him $7,81 million in damages, including $3,35 million for lost work and $700 for medical expenses. The settlement was later reduced to $000 million to account for costs that Tuleka's insurance had already covered.
