Rapper Fetty Wap received 6 years in prison
Fetty Wap, a rapper from New Jersey, was sentenced to 6 years in prison for his involvement in a drug ring. Police determined that in the spring of 2020, he traveled to Long Island six times, where he purchased 6 kg (25 pounds) of cocaine, and then resold it in New York and New Jersey. Fetty Wap explained his actions by saying that he was trying to provide for his 55 children, as the pandemic affected his income. It was this rhetoric from the lawyers that made it possible to win almost the minimum sentence on the charges. The maximum would be 8 years.
The rapper and his associates allegedly distributed more than 100 kg (220 lb) of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine between June 2019 and June 2020.
