Ivana Trump's townhouse is up for sale

A few months after Ivana Trump's death, her 64th Street townhouse was put up for sale. Her children, Eric, Ivanka and Donald Jr., are asking for $26,5 million, to be split between the three of them. The five-story townhouse, which Ivana bought for $2,5 million in 1992 shortly after her divorce from Donald Trump, looks virtually the same as it did 30 years ago, when Trump remodeled the house, adding touches like a luxurious marble bathroom and lots of leopard print. print.

The Upper East Side home is 20 feet wide—standard for a townhouse—though otherwise it bears little resemblance to its neighbors. A 1920s renovation replaced the brownstone façade and porch with limestone and columns. The house has preserved decor and an abundance of gold lamps, a Renaissance garden on the staircase, crimson carpets and a bed with an ornate canopy. One prominent Upper East Side broker noted that the house was overpriced. "It needs a complete renovation. I think it will sell for $17 or $18 million," he predicts. Of course, such exaggeration of real estate values is a Trump family tradition, and Ivana's children seem to expect their name to be worth a lot. Even if there were such buyers, any appeal given by the fact that the property belonged to Ivana is negated by the fact that she died after falling down the stairs.

Most potential buyers will likely want to do an extensive renovation, since the 8,725-square-foot home doesn't have a full-size kitchen, and may want to add a pool to the existing sauna.
