New Yorkers traditionally showed off their hats
It's been a tradition in the Big Apple since the 1870s: on Easter Sunday, people take to Fifth Avenue and show off their most impressive headdresses. It’s hard to call these “hats.” Stunning head designs have unusual shapes, bright colors, and are decorated with ribbons, bows, feathers and other materials.
