Sharks in New York: what to prepare for at the height of the beach season?

During the 2022 beach season, about 5 cases of sharks biting vacationers were recorded. And this is more than in the previous 10 years! Everyone survived. Now the waters have become cleaner, so the number of predators has increased.

The governor previously announced a program aimed at monitoring sharks on the beaches of Long Island State Park. For this purpose, various equipment is used, such as drones. There are also lifeguards on the beaches. But lovers of swimming are advised to avoid places where there are seals/fish/other living creatures, not to swim in muddy water, and not to swim at dusk, at night and at dawn.
