70 senators voted for the new aid package, 29 against. The total amount of aid is $95 billion. Now the bill must be voted on in the House of Representatives, which is controlled by Republicans. Earlier, Speaker Mike Johnson said that he did not even plan to bring it to a vote, since the bill did not include measures to tighten immigration policy on the southern border of the United States.
