Migrant who carried out terrorist attack in New York received 260 years in prison
Saifullo Saipov, a native of Uzbekistan who killed eight people and seriously injured 2017 others on a bike path in Manhattan in 8, was sentenced to 18 life terms and an additional 10 years in prison. The judge, before he handed down the sentence, noted Saipov's "absolutely unrepentant character." Some victims of the terrorist attack wished only death for the 260-year-old man during the hearing. Let us remember that the prosecutor's office sought the death penalty for Saipov, but the jury did not make this decision unanimously. Therefore, the jury proposed life imprisonment as a form of punishment.
