Man sentenced for poisoning co-worker by pouring bleach into his Pepsi

Jerome Ellis, 49, a former Dollar General store janitor in DeLand, Florida, was sentenced to four years in prison. He admitted his guilt: in October last year he tried to poison his colleague by adding bleach to his carbonated drink. Ellis' victim had gotten into an argument with him the day before. The man left a can of Pepsi on the table, and when he returned from the toilet, he felt a strange taste. He suspected that Ellis might poison him, so he immediately called the police. Initially, the suspect claimed that he simply accidentally spilled some liquid. The police showed him the video recordings - and he confessed to everything. He stated that his colleague was unbearable to work with - and he took such a step.
