Violent controversy erupts in Florida amid rumors of Trump's imminent arrest

Supporters of the retired president are calling on state authorities to stage a real show of disobedience - and refuse to comply with the arrest warrant issued in New York for Trump. Florida has a law that gives the governor the power to consider any extradition cases. Theoretically, Governor DeSantis could open an investigation into the legality of New York prosecutors seeking to arrest Trump. And block his extradition.

Trump supporters even began demanding that DeSantis use the Florida National Guard to protect Trump from arrest by federal marshals. And refuse to deport Trump to New York, where he will face trial. Desantis himself has not yet commented on the situation with Trump’s possible arrest. Over the summer, when Mar-a-Lago was raided by the FBI, he called it a Banana Republic-style political persecution of enemies of the Biden regime. DeSantis has repeatedly come into direct conflict with other states and the federal government - for example, deporting illegal migrants from Florida to liberal states. However, he is unlikely to bring the situation to an open judicial split in the United States. In addition, Trump’s lawyers themselves promise to comply with the requirements of the New York prosecutor’s office. But it is obvious that the division in America will sharply intensify if Trump is arrested. And there will be more and more calls for Republican states to sabotage the decisions of the Democrats - or to arrange a “national divorce” of the United States into conservative and liberal America.
