US COVID-19 cases top 100 million
The country has officially recorded more than 100 million cases of COVID-19 amid another holiday season surge, according to the latest data released Wednesday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The United States is the first country in the world to record 100 million COVID-19 infections. As of Dec. 21, the total number of confirmed cases in the United States had reached 100216983. Experts say the actual number is much higher because people are testing at home and not telling authorities, and many have stopped getting tested altogether.
