Disney leaves Florida

The corporation is closing its $2 billion Star Wars hotel. It opened in 2019 - but then the pandemic happened, and now Disney finds itself at odds with state authorities who are pushing the corporation out of Florida. Disney management is also abandoning plans to build new campuses in Florida. An unclear future awaits the current amusement parks - some of the largest in the world. After all, the Republicans promise to clamp down on them in every possible way - in retaliation for Disney’s participation in promoting LGBT propaganda. Florida now restricts both racial and gender agendas and LGBT propaganda in all public schools and colleges. And an investigation has already been opened against one teacher for showing fifth-graders the Disney cartoon “Weird Movie” with gay characters.

For Ron DeSantis, the culture war in education and pressure on Disney are the hallmarks of his entire governorship. In the coming days, he plans to officially announce his presidential nomination. Although DeSantis' ratings are not very high, he has little chance of defeating Trump. Trump leads DeSantis by 40 points - 60% to 20%. But in any case, Republicans will use his reform experience if they can come to power in 2024. After all, they have long wanted to punish large corporations and banks involved in imposing a liberal agenda. And shake up the educational system, trying to make learning more patriotic. Whether this will work out or not is a big question. But the culture wars over control of education are sure to rage - increasing the division between the right and left of the states.
