The first “smart” pistol goes on sale
For the first time in history, the weapons company Biofire has released a pistol equipped with a fingerprint and facial scanner. That is, a pistol becomes a deadly weapon only in the hands of its owner. The new product costs $1499.
The manufacturer believes that the gun can improve gun safety in the States, because its systems can prevent, for example, accidental use by children, suicide, school shootings or simply injuries.
“If our work saves just one child's life, it will be worth it,” said Biofire CEO Kai Klopfer.
