Americans spend more money on legal weed than on chocolate.

According to MJBizDaily, US residents spent $30 billion on legal cannabis last year, which is $11,8 billion more than was spent on chocolate bars. The amount Americans spent on cannabis also exceeded the amount spent on painkillers, opioid medications and craft beer. Compared to 2021, weed sales in the United States have increased by $12 billion, since recreational marijuana was only legal in Washington and Colorado. Since then, 20 more states have allowed weed to be sold without medical justification. However, the main “drug” remains tobacco products, on which Americans spent $52,7 billion.
